The Indian 45cu" Stroker Junior Scout Project

The first "mock up" 1937 Junior Scout frame, 1942 741 Scout tanks crank cases, cylinders and cylinder heads, seat is a new current stock classic Brookes bicycle saddle

A bit of rummaging in the shed and I have a few more parts to tie wrap in place

Seat from a 1950's Francis Barnett, rear guard is a cut down Triumph Tiger Cub front.

Gearbox is a four speed Triumph box from a rigid framed Tiger 100

A pair of Triumph 19" wheels fitted with dirt track tyres will be fitted next, the front end will use the 741 girder fork left over from the Sport Scout basket.

I have already done most of the prep work to fit a Triumph box behind the Scout motor, I was going down this route with the Sport Scout, the main difference with the Junior Scout frame is that the british box sits so neatly under the chassis. I was planning using a Hayward belt drive kit, but I want this build to have a period feel so I have decided to use simplex primary chain drive using Triumph 6T/5T pulleys with open primary and a minimal chain guard.

The engine will be based around an ex army 741 Scout motor, which would have left the factory with a capacity of 500cc, this will be increased by being bored out to 600cc then stroked to 750cc 45cu" using flywheels and conrods from a 1942 Harley Davidson WLA45.
