1926 Model T Ford Speedster

Aquired as a trade for a basket case FXR and an Ariel rigid frame this ex fairground racer is to be the basis of a 1920's "T" Speedster, its fitted with a Giant Powerhead and is as found in a South Dakota scrapyard.

As first seen at Neil Tuckett's yard

Being tested before i got it.

First jobs to do, learn how to start it, here's the drill:

set the hand throttle 1/2 way open

set the advance /retard lever

switch on the fuel

clip the battery terminal on flick on the feed/kill switch

check that the trembler coils are buzzing

crank the starter handle.................................

check the fuel,

crank the starter handle.................................

check the kill switch

crank the starter handle.................................

have a rest, start again

crank the starter handle..................................

notice the length of copper wire running from the carb through the radiator grill with a loop at the end,

pull it and tie it onto the radiator mounting stud,

crank the starter handle...............................

the motor fires up and the revs start to rise, un hitch the choke, re set the ignition and throttle and the motor settles down to a noisey but healthy sounding beat :-)
